Dylan Hughes

Bassist · Composer · Producer · Bandleader

Seattle-based bassist, composer, and producer Dylan Hughes creates music that bridges modern jazz, R&B, and open improvisation. With more than two decades of experience performing across North America, Europe, Asia, and Africa, Hughes has developed a distinctive musical voice shaped by soulful grooves, expressive compositions, and a deep belief in Music's power to connect people.

As leader of the Dylan Hughes YIN Band, he brings together some of Seattle's finest musicians to create performances rooted in deep listening, spontaneity, and musical exploration. His recordings, including YIN, Shido's Sunset, and Farewell, Captain, reflect an evolving artistic journey in which composition and improvisation become vehicles for storytelling, emotional expression, and shared human experience.
