New Album - Shido's Sunset Out Now!
The Dylan Hughes YIN Band is thrilled to announce the release of their new live album, Shido’s Sunset, on December 13, 2024. This album marks the first of two full-length releases captured during an electrifying live performance at Seattle's iconic Studio X on March 29, 2024.
Shido’s Sunset showcases the YIN Band’s unique fusion of jazz, R&B, and modern improvisation, delivering a dynamic and emotionally resonant experience. Known for their ability to transcend traditional genre boundaries, the YIN Band’s performances are spiritual journeys that engage listeners on a deep, emotional level.
The title track, Shido’s Sunset, holds special significance for Dylan Hughes. It is a heartfelt prayer for his son Shido, who was never born. The composition is deeply personal, reflecting Hughes’ emotional journey and offering a tender, meditative exploration of loss and hope through music.
"Our goal with Shido’s Sunset was to capture the magic of that night and the energy we felt performing in front of a live audience," said Dylan Hughes. "This album is a reflection of everything we love about making music—spontaneity, connection, and a shared moment of joy."
Fans of the YIN Band can expect Shido’s Sunset to continue the group’s tradition of delivering soulful and innovative compositions that evoke feelings of love, inspiration, and introspection. The album is a testament to the band’s reputation as one of the most talented and engaging live acts in Seattle.
